“What you eat in private is what you wear in public.”
I appreciate this quotation from Homemaking Career’s blog. She is so right. It is easy for me to think that as long as no one sees me eating it, it doesn’t count as much. But that is totally wishful thinking. I know that a calorie is a calorie is a calorie, no matter where it is eaten. But I don’t feel as guilty about eating something I shouldn’t if no one is watching. What’s funny is I’m ok with over-eating at parties when other people are also over-eating, but I don’t have trouble making healthy choices at sit-down restaurants. Maybe it’s the waitperson. Maybe I should picture a fancy dressed wait staff bringing me whatever it is I shouldn’t be eating on gold plates, with great fan fair, announcing that The Queen will now enjoy a ‘3 Musketeers’ (or whatever I’ve decided to eat that is not on my plan). TeeHee… That might be just funny enough, to get me conscious long enough, to make a healthy choice.
Exercise: 45 mins of sweat running down my face gardening… whew… now THAT was exercise for me.
